Wabash Valley Community Foundation to provide
class reunion roster update service
When the Glenn High School Alumni Association decided to establish a scholarship fund, the Wabash Valley Community Foundation learned it could add greater value by offering a new service that could make the tedious job of locating classmates for high school reunions much easier.
Community Foundation board member and Glenn High School alumnus Oscar Session noted that in soliciting Glenn classes to donate to the scholarship, some letters were returned with address changes. The Foundation turned over those updated addresses to the Alumni Association so it could bring its own mailing list up to date.
"We realized this would be a service the Community Foundation could provide to other classes and alumni associations in the area," said Beth Tevlin, executive director. "At the same time, we could add to the Foundation's mailing list and reach more people with ties to the local area who might be interested in donating to support their hometown schools."
The Community Foundation offers this service free of charge to any class or alumni association from any high school, past or present, in Clay, Sullivan or Vigo counties. Through the class reunion roster service the Community Foundation maintains the mailing list, adding it to its mailing list. After a mailing, the Foundation will update the list with any changes it receives, and when it's time for a reunion, the Foundation will provide mailing labels for the class or alumni association.|
The Community Foundation's mailings may include an annual report, a newsletter and informational post cards.
Class reunion organizers wishing to use this free service can call the Community Foundation office, 812-232-2234, for more information.
